- Ramadan Lectures 1446 AH – The Most Beautiful Names of Allah
In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Dear noble brothers, today we explore another of Allah's Most Beautiful Names, and the Name for today is At-Tawwaab.
At-Tawwab is one of the verbal adjectives derived from verbs added to nouns, and it refers to "The One Who forgives all sins, regardless of their number or significance."
The Arabic verb from which this name is derived is taaba (in the past tense), yatoobu (in the present tense), tawban (as the infinitive), and taubah (as the noun).
At-Taubah (repentance), dear brothers, is the way out for a person when he is surrounded by his sins:
﴾ And his sin has surrounded him. ﴿
The only safe way out is repentance.
Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, is At-Tawwab, Who accepts repentance from human beings in all their conditions, at all times, and in all circumstances.
Whoever sins but then turns to Allah in sincere repentance, no matter how far he has gone in sinning, will find the doors of Allah's Mercy opened to him, and Allah will be pleased with his turning to Him. However, if the hour of death comes, or if the Day of Judgment arrives (when the sun rises from the west), repentance will no longer be accepted.
The door of repentance will be closed either when someone is on his deathbed or when the sun rises from the west.
