Dear brothers, Allah the Almighty says: 

(And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto* They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled . Nay, we are a people bewitched)

[Al-Hijr, 14-15]

  An astronaut of Arab origin was once in a control tower in a western country that sent a spaceship to the space. One of the astronauts who were in the spaceship called the tower shouting, "We have become blind".

That is because when the spaceship exceeds the atmosphere, it enters into a completely dark spot to which the sunrays do not reach. The scientific explanation is that when the air is exposed to sunrays its particles reflect some of these rays giving light, while some air particles are not exposed to the sunrays, keeping the space they are floating in dark. 

On earth, there are light and rays, but if we exceed the atmosphere, we will be in a totally dark space, because the sunrays do not reach there.

In such space only twinkling stars or planets can be seen like small sparkling lights.

This was exactly what happened to the astronauts when their spaceship exceeded the atmosphere and entered into the outer space; they felt as if they were blind. 

This scientific fact has been discovered recently, but it has been mentioned in the Noble Quran for ages. Allah the Almighty says:  

(And even if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto* They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled . Nay, we are a people bewitched)

[Al-Hijr, 14-15]

The universe manifests Allah's Greatness:  

The abovementioned Ayah has been understood by now due to those discoveries concerning the space. Before man traveled to the outer space, the Ayah was hard to comprehend, and this proves the words of our Master Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, who said, "There are some Ayat in the Quran which have not been comprehended yet." The more science is advanced the clearer Allah's Greatness is manifested in the universe.         

Some scholars said, "The universe is a silent Quran, the Quran is a speaking universe and the Prophet, peace be upon him, is a walking Quran." In fact the universe as a manifestation of the Noble Quran makes all people on earth submit to Allah the Almighty, regardless of their sect, group, religion or ethnicity. Even the atheist who doesn’t believe in Allah submits to this universe when he witnesses its wonders.

As I have just said, the universe is a silent Quran. It is the manifestation of Allah's Greatness, and it is a reflection of His Most Beautiful Names and Exalted Attributes.  In fact, pondering over the creation of the heavens and the earth is the most exalted act of worship.

Better yet, it is the act of knowing Allah, Whom if you know, you will know everything else.
