Lesson 24 – "O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! "

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Dear noble brothers, we are discussing a new lesson of this series about the Ayaat that start with, "O you who believe…", and the Ayah today is the following:

(O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) the Day that Allah will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad PBUH) and those who believe with him, their Light will run forward before them and with (their Records Books of deeds) in their right hands they will say: "Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirat (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things .")

Let me start with the fact that repentance is the rescue lifeboat when man's sins causes him to drown in the mud of deviation, and it is the strong Rope of Allah man should hold fast. Furthermore, repentance is salvation, and when Allah orders you to repent, He does so only to accept your repentance.

To begin with, there are many Ayaat in the Noble Quran in which Allah the Almighty mentions repentance, but each Ayah has its own meaning. For instance, in the following Ayah, Allah, Exalted and Sublime be He, assures us by saying:

(Allah wishes to accept your repentance, but those who follow their lusts, wish that you (believers) should deviate tremendously away from the Right Path.)

[An-Nisa', 27]

When you turn to Allah with in repentance, Allah the Almighty will accept your repentance with love and affection, because you will gain happiness and will keep safe in the worldly life and the Hereafter. Regarding this point, Allah Exalted and Sublime be He, says:

(Truly, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves (by taking a bath and cleaning and washing thoroughly their private parts, bodies, for their prayers, etc.)

[Al-Baqarah, 222]

Allah the Almighty wishes to accept your repentance, and He loves you when you turn to Him in repentace.
