Reflect: What is it that truly concerns you?
Sometimes, one engages in a soliloquy (a private dialogue), but let me ask you: What is it that truly concerns you?
The following Hadith indicates this matter:
(( Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever makes the Hereafter his goal, Allah makes his heart rich, and organizes his affairs, and the world comes to him whether it wants to or not. And whoever makes the world his goal, Allah puts his poverty right before his eyes, and disorganizes his affairs, and the world does not come to him, except what has been decreed for him." ))
Ask yourself: What truly concerns you? What worries you? What do you long for? What do you hope for? With whom do you live? For whom do you live?
Some people live like the Noble Companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him. Their entire vision is shaped by Islam, its flourishing eras, the lives of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, and the Sirah (biography) of Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him. Others like to imitate the lives of artists, actors, football players, or the exhausting ones of politicians.
How about you? Like whom do you live? For whom do you live? Whom do you please? Whom do you anger? On whom do you spend? Whom do you connect with? Whom do you sever ties with? What angers you? What pleases you?
The answers of these questions are measures, and clues of man's life. To clarify, when a person worries about his connection with Allah, this is itself a great blessing, because it means that what truly delights him is remaining steadfast upon Allah's Command.
